We are moving our office to Ebisu in October. We already found a place, which is about 5 minite walk from Ebisu station.
Yesterday, the government said land prices of 3 major cities in Japan are falling (good thing we didn’t buy a house in a rush). I heard there are many vacant office rooms in the Shibuya area, Tokyo. We had looked around Shibuya and actually saw lots of “Vacancy” sign on the streets.
Our new office (Ebisu is in Shibuya ward) -- the rend had been more expensive. They reduced it - about 30,000 yen because no one would not want to rent at that price.
I think we are moving at a good time :-)
Yesterday, I had a meeting at Tokyo Midtown, one of the new landmarks in the Roppongi area. Since there are lots of neat restaurants and cafés there, I was planning to have a late lunch after the meeting.
I went into a café. When I was about to order, I realized I didn't have a wallet with me! I searched in my bag, but I could not find it.
Oh no..., I did it again. I left my wallet at home again. It was too late to realize it. (I was alone then)
I do that so often since I started using a wallet-phone, e-money charged in my mobile phone. I always find myself not having my wallet with me, when it comes to buy something at a store. Before using a wallet-phone, it was at the station, when I was about to buy the train ticket or take out the train pass from my wallet. In that case, you only have to go back home to get your wallet.
At the café, I politely canceled the order and left there to look for a place where I could pay with my wallet-phone. Unfortunately, however, almost no stores accepted e-money except a few convenience stores! I am in the middle of Tokyo, at the most up-to-date place, and I cannot use e-money almost anywhere!? 3 kinds of e-money were charged in my phone but they were useless. That is as dumb as me, who left my wallet at home again...
After all I ended up in having a cheap sandwich I bought at a convenience store.
Finally, the project which started in August have finished at the end of January. We've done it fine and had a little dinner at the place called “Yamakoya”, which means “lodge” in English.
The place is a little izakaya (tavern) located near our office, Daitabashi, Tokyo. The building is very old and small, but unlike the way it looks (sorry!) the food is really really good! Their menu includes lots of grilled stuff, pasta & handmade bread. I love their pesto spaghetti & homemade bread with apple inside. And don't forget to order extra hot sungan.
If you had a chance to come near Daitabashi, try Yamakoya. You would love it!
See the pictures at the bottom.
